12th International Symposium on Structural Engineering (ISSE-12)

17–19 November 2012

The symposium presented advances in structural design and analysis, construction and maintenance, and disaster mitigation. Its proceedings covered smart materials and structures, seismic analysis and vibration mitigation, structural health monitoring and sensing, strengthening, and field testing, with attention to infrastructure safety and sustainability.

The 12th International Symposium on Structural Engineering was held in Wuhan on 17–19 November 2012, jointly organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University of Technology.

Proceedings and Research Contributions

Professor Bin Huang co-edited the two-volume Proceedings of the Twelfth International Symposium on Structural Engineering with Professor Hongping Zhu of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Jiping Ru, Director of the Building Environment and Civil Engineering Program at the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Research contributions from the group addressed the stochastic dynamic characteristics of long-span cable-stayed bridges, static reliability of structures with random parameters, sensing using smart bearings, and damage identification in stochastic beam structures.
