Inaugural Meeting of the Committee on Structural Safety Assessment and Risk Control in Civil Engineering of the Hubei Civil Engineering and Architectural Society and 1st Symposium on Structural Safety Assessment and Risk Control in Civil Engineering

The event combined the establishment of a specialist committee with a symposium on safety in urban development and risk in major engineering projects. Presentations addressed long-span railway bridges, safety assessment under uncertainty and the implementation of health monitoring systems for large engineering structures.

On 31 July 2021, the group organized and hosted the inaugural meeting of the Committee on Safety Assessment and Risk Control of Civil Engineering Structures of the Hubei Civil Engineering and Architectural Society, together with the first symposium on the same subject. The event was funded by the Hubei Association for Science and Technology. A keynote presentation entitled “Stochastic model updating using a new stochastic finite element method” was delivered.
