In May 2015, Academician Kejian Ma of Guizhou University delivered a presentation entitled “Research and applications of a new spatial grid cassette structural system in various building projects”.

Using examples of multistory, medium-rise and high-rise buildings, the presentation examined the spatial configuration, visual appearance, construction cost and structural safety of spatial grid cassette structures.

The presentation emphasized that innovations in structural systems should be validated in engineering practice, and reviewed research and construction examples in terms of mechanical models, structural system selection and engineering applications.
